A DUNSBOROUGH WEDDING
Kirilee and Ethan got married in the natural bush setting of Meelup Farmhouse in the Southwest.
In glorious January sunshine just a stone's throw from some of Dunsborough’s best beaches, it was a perfect day for a romantic southwest wedding and I was stoked to be shooting it.
It was a day that had been meticulously planned by the couple, and it was not without its challenges. In January, Western Australia still had Covid restrictions which meant many of the South West weddings I captured that season were missing loved ones. For Kirilee this included 2 of her bridesmaids. Then, a week before their wedding a bush fire ravaged through cape naturaliste, coming close to their wedding venue. Perhaps it was the relief of getting past these hurdles that allowed the happy couple to fully relax and enjoy their special day, making it easy for me to capture some authentic candid photos.
After their ceremony I traveled to sugarloaf rock with the newly married couple. Sugarloaf rock is a premium location for capturing romantic couple photos in the southwest. The Indian Ocean lapping against the iconic slab of granite in golden hour light make it the perfect choice for wedding photos in the Margaret river region. Kirilee and Ethan absolutely killed it in front of the camera.
Back at Meelup farmhouse the couple made a grand entrance with cold sparks and a choreographed dance to some pumping tunes. The evening was filled with awesome food by Meelup farmhouse, some heartfelt speeches, great banter, great tunes and good times.
I’m stoked that I got to be a part of the team for Kirilee and Ethans Dunsborough wedding and am greatfull that I was able to deliver this gallery of natural wedding photos.
